Wasted Lives

It is beyond me how people can spend their entire lives doing nothing. How can you settle for being a regular person? How can your main goal in life be having a family, a good job, and some kids? I thought what distinguishes humans from other creatures is having a brain, being able to use logic, and the capability of acting according to reason not instinct.

It's very sad to see young people being brainwashed by religion and/or families. Being told what to think and how to think, what to do and why to do it.....

you can have both, they are interlinked but independant from each other.

A natural sequence of human progress in life when followed logically and ideally as you age with time should include growing up, (assuming your parents would send you to school) studying, meeting ppl, falling for someone and starting a family sometime(living with someone). getting a job to fulfil your needs (survive) and your family needs, and to meet your ambitions (self realisation). afterall you are human who is living with other humans.

now every one of these is a phase of life, when you move from one phase to another, you make choices, identifiers of your life path, and there is a drive for these choices. what is the base of the drive .. its the mind, the brain.

i would say that what governs our choices the 4 main bases are the mind (how does one think, life approach), time( progress, trasition), instinct, and environment (social complexity).

I think you misunderstood my point. I was merely criticizing people whose ambition stops at having a family, a good job, and kids, not those who want that as a step in their lives to move to higher objectives.
